Bit Tries Everything
The next evening, Bit climbed onto the windowsill again, carrying a little leaf-bag of treasures. Squeeze, wiggle, squeeze… Bit was back inside the computer!
Bit hurried to the circle with the crack. But the shiny staple was gone! The crack was open again, and the lamp was dark.
Bit opened the leaf-bag. Inside were a green leaf, a little twig, a red crayon, a round plastic bead, a shiny coin and a tiny key. "I'll try them all!" said Bit.
First, the green leaf. Bit laid it across the crack. Will the lamp light up?
No! The dots could not hold hands across the leaf. The lamp stayed dark.
Next, the twig. Dark! Then the red crayon. Dark again! Bit scratched his head with his sprout.
Then the round plastic bead. Bit rolled it into the crack. Will the lamp light up this time?
No! Plastic doesn't let the dots through either. Bit looked at the last two treasures. They were both shiny.
Bit laid the shiny coin across the crack. Will the lamp light up?
YES! The dots held hands across the shiny coin, all the way round, and the lamp lit up! Bit tried the tiny key too. It worked as well!
Bit looked at a wire nearby. Inside was shiny metal, for the dots to run along. Outside was a coat of plastic, so the dots stayed safely inside.
At home, Bit sorted the treasures into two piles: the ones that let the dots through, and the ones that don't. Then Bit fell fast asleep, dreaming of two little bridges side by side.
比比来试一试
第二天晚上，比比又爬上了窗台，还背着一个树叶做的小包，里面装满了宝贝。挤一挤，扭一扭，比比又钻进电脑里了！
比比急急忙忙跑到那个有裂缝的圆圈。可是亮亮的订书钉不见了！裂缝又断开了，小灯黑黑的。
比比打开树叶小包。里面有一片绿叶子、一根小树枝、一支红蜡笔、一颗圆圆的塑料珠子、一枚亮亮的硬币，还有一把小钥匙。比比说：“我每个都试一试！”
先试绿叶子。比比把它搭在裂缝上。你猜，小灯会亮吗？
不亮！小点点们隔着叶子牵不到手。小灯还是黑的。
再试小树枝。不亮！再试红蜡笔。还是不亮！比比用小芽挠了挠头。
接着试圆圆的塑料珠子。比比把它滚到裂缝里。这一次，小灯会亮吗？
不亮！塑料也不让小点点过去。比比看了看最后两个宝贝，它们都亮晶晶的。
比比把亮亮的硬币搭在裂缝上。你猜，小灯会亮吗？
亮了！小点点们隔着亮亮的硬币牵上了手，绕了一整圈，小灯亮了！比比又试了试小钥匙，也亮了！
比比看了看旁边的一根电线。里面是亮亮的金属，让小点点在上面跑。外面包着一层塑料外衣，让小点点乖乖待在里面。
回到家，比比把宝贝分成两堆：一堆能让小点点过去，一堆不能。然后比比睡着了，梦见了两座并排的小桥。
