Wukong practised his moves every day. But every stick he used went… snap!
An old monkey said, "The Dragon King under the sea has wonderful treasures."
Wukong jumped into the sea. Splash! Down, down he went, to the Dragon Palace.
The Dragon King was big and green, with long curly whiskers. Wukong bowed politely.
The Dragon King brought big, heavy rods. Wukong lifted them with one hand.
Then, deep in the sea, something began to shine: a tall golden pillar.
Wukong asked it to get smaller, and it did, until it was as tiny as a needle. This was his magic staff.
Wukong thanked the Dragon King and swam home to show his friends.
That night, the magic staff slept behind Wukong's ear, tiny as a needle. Goodnight, Wukong.
