Two Monkeys
One morning, Wukong saw a monkey by the road. He looked almost exactly like Wukong!
"I'm Wukong!" said one monkey. "No, I'm Wukong!" said the other.
Tang Sanzang looked and looked. He could not tell which monkey was which.
Bajie pulled one tail. Sandy pulled the other. "Ouch!" cried both monkeys at the same time.
The two monkeys flew all the way to Guanyin. She looked carefully, but even she could not tell!
At last they went to wise Buddha. Buddha smiled. "Count the ears," he said kindly.
With a little pop, the copy monkey turned back into a small brown monkey with six ears. "I just wanted friends, like you," he said shyly.
Wukong took his hand. "You don't need to be me," he said. "Just be you!"
That night, the little monkey went home happy. "There is only one me," said Wukong sleepily. "And only one you."
真假美猴王
一天早上，孙悟空在路边看见一只猴子。它长得和孙悟空几乎一模一样！
一只猴子说：“我是孙悟空！”另一只说：“不对，我才是孙悟空！”
唐僧看了又看，怎么也分不出哪个是哪个。
八戒拉拉这只的尾巴，沙僧拉拉那只的尾巴。两只猴子一起大叫：“哎哟！”
两只猴子一起飞到观音菩萨那里。观音仔细看了看，可是连她也分不出来！
最后，他们来到了如来佛祖那里。佛祖笑着说：“数一数耳朵吧。”
变回来了！假猴子变回了一只小小的六耳猕猴。他害羞地说：“我只是想和你一样，有好朋友。”
孙悟空拉起他的手说：“你不用变成我，做你自己就很好！”
那天晚上，小猕猴高高兴兴地回家了。孙悟空困困地说：“世界上只有一个我，也只有一个你。”
