The Water Curtain Cave
Stone Monkey had lots of friends now: big monkeys and little monkeys. They played by the stream all day.
One hot day, they wanted to know where the stream came from. Up, up, up they climbed.
There it was: a big waterfall, falling like a white curtain.
What was behind the water? Nobody knew. The old monkeys said, "Whoever looks will be our king!"
Stone Monkey crouched low. One, two, three… jump! Right through the water.
Behind the water was a dry, cosy cave. There were stone beds, stone tables, even stone bowls and cups!
He jumped back out and called his friends. One by one, they all jumped in.
The monkeys bowed to Stone Monkey. From that day on, he was the Handsome Monkey King.
That night, all the monkeys slept snug and dry, listening to the waterfall. Splash, splash.
水帘洞
石猴有了好多朋友，有大猴子，也有小猴子。他们天天在小溪边玩。
有一天，天很热。大家想看看，小溪是从哪里流来的。他们往上爬呀爬。
原来是一道大瀑布，哗啦啦地流下来，像一块白白的门帘。
瀑布后面有什么？谁也不知道。老猴子们说：“谁敢进去看看，谁就当我们的大王！”
石猴蹲下身子，用力一跳，穿过了瀑布！
瀑布后面是一个干干的山洞。有石床，有石桌子，还有石碗和石杯子！
石猴又跳了出来，叫大家进去。猴子们一个跟着一个，都跳了进去。
猴子们都向石猴鞠躬。从那天起，他就是美猴王啦！
那天晚上，猴子们在水帘洞里睡觉，听着瀑布的声音。哗啦啦，哗啦啦。
